After experiencing all the action and battle in Dota 2 players are now curious about the Dota 3 release date. Last year there was a joke on Steam that Dota 3 will launch exclusively on the Epic Games Store this year.

Valve’s Dota 2 was released on 9 May 2013 and now we are waiting eagerly for the next installment to come out. However, it seems that the Dota 3 release date is not going to be announced anytime soon since there is certainly no remark whatsoever about Dota 3 by anyone from the developing team. Some rumors are saying Dota 3 will be announced in 2024, but unfortunately, it’s not an official statement.

In May 2024, Epic Games announced that Dota 3 developers are going to place the game in the Epic Games store. This means this official statement from Epic Games cleared that the game is in development and will be released anytime soon.

Valve’s co-founder Gabe Newell savagely held a press release, citing the Dota 3 developers as “taking his pre-order money” when they “were quietly negotiating an exclusivity arrangement behind the scenes”.

“We need to put an end to these kinds of exclusives,” said Newell. “It’s not good for the industry. What is good for the industry is releasing every game on Steam, constantly, until the end of time, especially our games, he added”.

“I recognize that it May not be convenient for some people to install an extra launcher,” a Dota 3 network engineer said, “but it turns out that it’s quite convenient for me to have the extra cash.”
