Here is the Destiny 2 Expansion List including past and upcoming future expansions with details.
Curse of Osiris
Curse of Osiris is the first (DLC) expansion pack for Destiny 2. It was released on May 5, 2017. The plot of Curse of Osiris is based on Mercury and shows the Guardian’s attempts to save Osiris from the Vex to prevent a gloomy future. The expansion’s story revolves around the relationship between Osiris and his disciple, Ikora Rey.
Osiris returns after years of exile and contacts his former student, Ikora Rey. He finds the Vex from both past and future timelines are gathering on Mercury. Despite Ikora’s hesitation to believe Osiris, she asks the Guardian to find him and discover whether he can be trusted to count as an ally in the fight.
The Vex has converted an area on Mercury into the Infinite Forest, an implicit simulation of the galaxy where the Vex uses its plans to bring it into reality. The forest is commanded by Panoptes, Infinite Mind.

After getting free, the Hive army is in service to their god Xol. The Guardian must help Ana learn her past and stop the Hive’s enormous worm-god before it is too late.

After years of turbulence, The Reef has started to corrupt into lawlessness. Cayde-6 and the Guardian are assigned to investigate the area and help mitigate the area’s main issues. When arriving at The Reef, a huge prison breach befalls the Prison of Elders, releasing some of the most wanted and deadly criminals back into the universe.

Joker’s Wild

Penumbra
Penumbra now known as the Season of Opulence was released on May 4th, 2019, and ends the Forsaken Annual Pass. The season included a new raid, Crown of Sorrow with a new mode called The Menagerie.

The Witch Queen
The Witch Queen will be the sixth expansion of Destiny 2 and the ninth expansion of the Destiny franchise after Destiny 2: Beyond Light. The Witch Queen’s Release Date was 22 May 2022. However, we do not have much detail about the expansion at the moment since Bungie has not provided any official information.
Lightfall
Lightfall will be the expansion released after Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. It can also be the last expansion in the Destiny 2 expansion list for the fact that Bungie has already launched several expansions in the game. Maybe we could see Destiny 3 in the future. It was released in 2024.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape
After years of build-up, the epic conclusion to Destiny 2’s Light and Darkness saga will finally arrive when The Final Shape expansion releases in May 2024.
Bungie has remained tight-lipped about story details, but this will likely be the climactic showdown between Guardians and The Witness that the franchise has been leading towards.
Set to take place in a new destination within The Witness’ pyramid fleet, the expansion will see players travel into the belly of the beast. Leaks indicate fan favorites like Eris Morn and Mara Sov will be integral to the plot, guiding and supporting Guardians in the final battle. New Darkness powers are also expected as Guardians take the fight directly to the ancient evil.
Beyond the campaign, a new raid and Crucible maps/modes will provide engaging endgame content. And with the Light and Darkness conflict coming to a head, the stage will be set for a dramatic reshaping of the Destiny universe going forward.
For devoted players who have followed the journey so far, May 2024 will be a bittersweet moment. While The Final Shape promises to deliver a thrilling conclusion, it also marks the end of an era for one of gaming’s landmark franchises.
But with Bungie continuing to support Destiny 2, Guardians can trust there are still bright days ahead after the dust settles from the final confrontation with The Witness.
