Zombie Army 4 was released on 4 May 2020 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Furthermore, there are plans for more content to be released after the game launches. The third-person arcade adventure is a finely crafted Nazi nonsense to an all-new level throwing plenty of undead threats in your direction, each of which is as deadly as they are droll. While you get some series of stalwarts, such as the standard grunts, suicide bombers, and enormous brutes with mini-guns, you also get some of the game’s most inventive enemies. For starters, there’s a zombie tank, with a beating heart in the midst of its armor that must be targeted.

Plus, there are zombie sharks. Who will not want to play a game where there are zombie sharks? Count me in. This time there are location-based traps, something more or less lifted from Rebellion’s recent co-op game. They are as entertaining as they are effective and are spread around levels to help you transmit large amounts of foes in one fell swoop.

The major element of the game is its story style, which can be played solo or with up to three players. Each player gets to choose from four characters, each with their own temperaments and fighting style. They also have perks that can be customized to add your own gameplay choices. The soundtrack and audio effects are great, appropriately spooky, and pulp movie-like. Rebellion has always been great in thematically styling its games, and ZA4 is no different.
